How I Started Building a Business While Working Toward More Time With My Children. Nobody really prepares you for how much life changes when you become a parent.
I know this feeling because I've experienced it myself.
Hi, I'm Mary Bertian. I'm a policy officer by profession, and I'm also a mother.
When I became a mom, I started looking at my life differently. I wanted to continue working toward my goals, but I also wanted to spend more time with my child.
That desire eventually led me to explore a business opportunity that changed how I approach work and family life.
My journey toward creating a better balance between work, business, and family.
Why I Started Looking for Something Different
One of the hardest things for me after becoming a mother was leaving my child at daycare to go to work.
I would find myself constantly checking my phone, wondering what was happening and whether someone would call me about my child.
Even when I was physically at work, part of my mind was always at home.
It became difficult to focus fully on my job because I wanted to know that my child was okay.
I began asking myself an important question: Was there another way for me to work toward my goals while having more time to be present for my child?
One day, when I got home, I decided to look beyond my usual routine and explore the opportunities available to me.
I wasn't looking for something that would simply add more responsibilities to my already busy life. I wanted an opportunity that could fit around my schedule and give me the flexibility to continue caring for my family.
That was when I discovered a digital business opportunity that caught my attention.
What Made Me Decide to Start?
When I discovered this opportunity, several things stood out to me.
I also learned that participants could receive guidance from a mentor and a coach.
I wanted to understand how the business worked, learn the process, and have support available as I progressed.
These were some of the things I had been looking for.
I knew why I wanted a change, and I understood what I hoped to achieve for my household.
I decided to take action rather than continue wondering what might be possible.
For me, it wasn't about following someone else's dream. It was about recognizing what I wanted for my family and exploring an opportunity that aligned with those goals.
How My Work and Family Life Have Changed
Since starting my business, one of the changes I've experienced is that I'm no longer working full-time in my traditional nine-to-five role. I now work part-time, which gives me more time at home with my child.
This is something I truly appreciate because having more time with my family was one of the main reasons I started looking for a different approach.
However, I still have a bigger dream.
I want to become a full-time stay-at-home mother while continuing to work on my business.
I want to be present as my children grow, watch their milestones, and enjoy more of the everyday moments that can pass by so quickly.
Children grow faster than we sometimes realize. Before you know it, they are older, their interests have changed, and you've missed moments you wish you could have experienced with them.
That is why creating more flexibility matters so much to me.

I work as an independent distributor with Enagic, a company known for its water filtration systems and related products.

The company offers water filtration machines and other products that people can learn about and consider for their homes.
Some people may be interested in purchasing a product for personal use without wanting to build a business.

The business arrangement includes training and access to a mentor and coach, according to the programme's terms.
Another feature is that the company handles product delivery and related logistics. This means distributors do not have to personally manage all the storage and shipping of physical products.
Of course, building a business still requires effort, learning, and an understanding of how to attract customers.
Before deciding to participate, it's important to understand the startup costs, ongoing expenses, compensation structure, and requirements.
I believe people should have the information they need to make a decision that is right for their own circumstances.
